Hello to all friends and readers of:
Mirth in Malaise: A Disabled "Gaijin" with MS in Tokyo
and soon to come:
Mirth in Malaise: Recipes and Natural Remedies
All multiple sclerosis symptoms are fairly stable now and I owe that to a partner who feeds me mostly "green stuff" and fruit..no, not by hand. On the days when I cook something special, I convert recipes to food more recognisable to my body and his. Nowadays that means just using anything on hand in a far wiser pantry than ever before.
Although the first book will allow you to understand better my lifestyle and sometimes bizarre post-diagnosis reasoning, put a copy of my free book on your "to read" list first. The free book is like the first, with previews of some stories as well as extra tales which stand alone. But no food or remedies, just the odd chuckle or two.
For some reason, nearly everyday being who I am, that is, a person who is reminded that she is a "foreigner" nearly everyday and being sick yet being audacious enough to hold hands with anyone who looks kind and willing enough t to help has made my life very interesting. From maternal instincts to those who just have to save the damsel in distress I have learned a great deal about the people around me as well as myself. There is not enough comaraderie in Tokyo or proobably most cities, Japanese people are loathe to be the nail that sticks out, or call attention to themselves in any way. Being a foreigner means...
...I can.
Having MS has added such an interesting dimension to my life that I felt compelled to write it down, share my stories: crises, triumphs and laugh out loud moments.

Everybody knows the merits of laughter and food. Would love to hear your funniest disabled stories below. 3 funniest stories get a free copy of "Mostly Black".
Yes having a sense of humour makes life reconstruction more bearable.
Laugh with me!
